My story
I have been humbled by the sea. In a storm the first thing that she dismantles is your ego. This happens way before she starts to dismantle your ship. My love for her is deep and unending. She is responsible for introducing me to me.
I worked in the City of London as an insurance broker for 26 years, achieving the following roles: Assistant Vice President, Broking Director, Partner and Executive Director, conducting business on an international basis.
In 2017 I decided to leave my job in London to pursue a dream of sailing around the UK. My intention was to return to London, and a job in insurance, after completing my solo circumnavigation of the UK, but, as often happens, one adventure leads to another!
Together with my wife I sailed extensively around the North Atlantic, including spending three months inside the Arctic Circle. We explored the Shetland Islands, Orkney Islands and the archipelago that makes up the Faroe Islands. We circumnavigated Iceland, visited its outlying islands known as Vestmannaeyjar, explored the Norwegian coast all the way up to Tromsø, sailed up to Svalbard amongst the ice and glaciers and even sailed across the line of 80 degrees north, some twenty miles north of Spitsbergen. At this point, the only thing to the north of you is ice and the North Pole!
Living alongside Mother Nature like this has undoubtedly influenced my spiritual growth and taught me the fragility of life, its value and the importance of living to your highest potential in order to experience what it is that I believe we are here to experience - joy! The most joy we can possibly experience, in whichever way it is that we decide to spend the most valuable commodity that we have - our time!
My London-based role in face-to-face negotiation for over a quarter of a century provided an excellent grounding for my coaching work, as did my experience of sailing expeditions in the North Atlantic Ocean. Drawing on these experiences, and guided by the joy and freedom that come with authenticity, I now offer my professional coaching services to help bring forth, from within you, the self-mastery needed to break old patterns and create the life you desire, both professionally and personally. You are enough.
